Even with the Azalea Fest going on down the road, the 16th annual Pleasure Island Chowder Cook-off on Saturday brought out more than 4,000 people to try chowders from seven local restaurants, enjoy kid’s activities and dance to live music. The restaurants served gallons and gallons of chowder for the public and a nine-member judging panel to try. (Supplies eventually ran out as the cook-off progressed.)
